Foo Fighters

This article is written about my favourite band. They’re the best rock band in the last 10 years.

Foo Fighters is a band who was create with the die of Kurt Cobain. Dave Groh, the drummer of nirvana, decided that he didn’t want to left the world of music and because of that he fundated a band with similar features but with more mixtures between rock, pop and heavy. Dave joined to the guitarist Pat Smear, excomponent of Germs, and he joined to two members of ‘Sunny Day Real State’ , the bass Nate Mendel and the drummer William Goldsmith.

In 1995 they got a contract with a company called Capitol, and then they published their first disc: ‘Foo Fighters’.

After two years of tours and concerts around all over the world, they decide to publish their second disc: ‘The colour and the shape’. That year, 1997, the drummer of the band, William Goldsmith, give us to know that he was going to left de group, and so did he. This fact was produced by an argument between the drummer and Gil Norton, the producer.

The next who give up the band was the guitarrst Pat Smear. That one, was replaced by an ex partner of Grohl and his name is Franz Stahl, although he doesn’t going to last a lot because he left the band soon.

Since that, the band has been shaped by three people and Dave began to be the only guitar in the group.

The next albums were: ‘There is nothing left to lose’(1999), ‘One by One’(2002), ‘In your honor’ (2005), ‘Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace’(2007).

In 2008, Dave says in BBC radio: “ After the concert that we performed in wembley, we shouldn’t come back there because we play for everybody”.

The singer and guitarist of Foo decided that they have to rest because every summer, every year, every winter, they perform in most of places in world, and have to take a rest.

Nowadays, we can know that they are going to come again. They’ll publish their next disc on 7th April 2011 and its single it is called ‘Bridge Burning’.
